We're proud to announce a campaign to benefit youth education programs sponsored by the Dallas Safari Club and Dallas Ecological Foundation. We'll donate $100 from the sale of every Blaser R8 rifle sold now through Dec. 31, 2014 in support of the DEF's mission to educate young adults about responsible hunting and conservation through “Outdoor Adventures,” an accredited educational curriculum currently available in 170 Texas secondary schools.
The proceeds will also aid programs for children and young adults, including S.A.F.E.T.Y (Shooting Archery Field Excellency Trials for Youth) and excursions funded by the DSC. All R8 sales completed until Dec. 31 are eligible for the $100 donation.
A hot new custom rifle line, Fierce Firearms, has emerged from the wilds of Utah. We just received "The Edge" rifle in 300 WM, which offers a distinctly custom feel: match grade barrel, lightweight carbon fiber stock, and match grade trigger. The Edge boasts a 100 yard, 1/2" 3 shot guarantee. Fierce owner John Mogle walks us through the rifle's specs in this video. To see it in person, stop by the shop!
For another three weeks, archers have the white-tails all to themselves. Come November 1, we riflemen and women will be raring to take the field. As you prepare for opening day, keep in mind that we have a gunsmith on-site daily to mount and boresight at a moment's notice (we'll get you on paper; a range follow-up is always recommended). And, if you're in need of a reliable scope, we suggest the always dependable Leupold VX-R 3-9x40. The fire dot reticle is immensely helpful during dim mornings and at dusk. VX-Rs start at $509.99.
And, by the way, there's less than a week left to take advantage of Leupold's offer of a complimentary Carhartt jacket with the purchase of any VX-6, VX-3, or VX-3L scope. We have a couple options in stock, and can order them as well. You'll need the box and receipt, plus this rebate form, to receive one. The paperwork must be submitted or postmarked Oct. 31.

The Texas Shootout is in honor of Rob Harper, the son of longtime customer and friend Bob Harper. Rob, who passed away suddenly at the age of 52, possessed a deep passion for soccer. He played for SMU in college and, as an adult, continued to both play and coach. After his death, friends and family established the Rob Harper Memorial Fund to further his legacy of introducing soccer to kids who otherwise wouldn't have the chance. The Texas Shootout, at Elm Fork Shooting Sports on Friday, October 17, held in partnership with FC Dallas, will benefit the memorial fund.
