There will be a Snowflake Tea and Cookie Walk at Knox United Church, 201 2nd Avenue Fernie on November 22 from 11:30 - 2:30. Admission for the tea is $6.00 and consists of sandwiches, cake, fresh fruit and a hot beverage. The cookie walk involves buying an empty box for $10 or a larger one for $20. Each participant is given a disposable glove, then walks up and down the tables of cookies (hand made by our United Church Women), choosing whatever takes their fancy. The only rule is the lid of the box must close!
A great fundraiser for us and many people buy a box of delicious cookies to freeze for Christmas.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven
and the
first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

Thought:

What holds you back from change?
If so, why?
What change could we embrace?

50 MINUTE RETREAT, with Mardi Tindal and Karen
Hilfman Millson, November 4, 2014

In her poem the lesson of the falling leaves, Louise Clifton wrote, in part:

the leaves believe
such letting go is love

It's necessary to know what we are to love and hold, if we are also to let go in love. Consider joining us to imagine what your integrity requires you to hold and to let go; to love and to live as who you are.

Co-facilitators Karen Hilfman Millson and Mardi Tindal will guide you in experiences of simple practice, both personal and communal, using words, images and silence.

Eric Law returns to Toronto in November to continue his exploration of "Holy Currencies", and once again United-in-Learning will broadcast the event through the Internet so that individuals and church groups from across the country can participate in this event.
