Fall Arrives

As winter rapidly comes to the great state of Maine, we are completing our end of year obligations.  Lands need to be monitored, management plans filed, pledges collected.  But there's always time to get outside and enjoy the trails, whether you are hunting, hiking, biking or even skiing.   November can be a great time for the outdoor activities - head out and work off that Thanksgiving dinner and spend some quality time with friends and family.

In This Newsletter:
  • Gulf Hagas-Whitecap Project
  • New Project Map (click here)
  • Appalachian Trail Partner Hike on Barren Mountain
  • Maine Outdoor Coalition Membership
  • Giving Tuesday is on December 2nd
Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust depends on members and new supporters alike for funding.  Our activities include:
  • Stewardship of our lands
  • New projects along the A.T.
  • Vital mapping and GIS data collection
  • Updating info on trails and lands
Please consider renewing or donating to help protect the Appalachian Trail in Maine!

Conservation Partner Hikes

Maine A.T. Land Trust went on a few field trips this summer and fall with other conservation organizations.  Collaboration is essential to our mission - read more about it here.

Gulf Hagas - Whitecap

Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust anticipates partnering with Forest Society of Maine on their Gulf Hagas - Whitecap project!  Read more about it here.

Land Stewardship

Fall is the best time for monitoring lands - the leaves are off the trees and the snow has yet to fall heavily (in most cases...).  Check out this post to see more about how Maine A.T. Land Trust works with landowners to ensure that protected properties stay that way.

Giving Tuesday!
On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.  Click the logo to read more!  All of us can afford to give more to the cause of our choice.
