Six Reasons We're Even Better Than Last Year

2013 was the inaugural year of the WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada. Our goal remains to make these awards the best and to bring together the best of Canadian wines and Canadian wine critics under one roof.  We also wanted to change the perspective. We view wine awards as a service that we provide for wineries, our customers. By acting on the great feedback we received from our customers we are making some significant improvements this year.

New for 2014 we will be:
  • Adding ALL submitted wines to our database with a high quality image
  • Providing a blind, professional review for all wines, many will be in both French and English
  • Providing better looking medals to platinum and gold winners
  • Providing smaller and higher quality stickers
  • Publishing results, including Winery of the Year, far earlier to maximize your ability to market the winners
  • Having Dr.Jamie Goode join our judges, our first high-profile, international judge from a key export market
Innovations from last year that are back:
  • Winning wines will be tagged, categorized and flagged with virtual medals
  • Medal winners will be visible to anyone who visits our website
  • Partnership with a national print publication to showcase the results
While the results will be displayed on WineAlign as they were last year, new for 2014 will the size and location of the audience. With our recent expansion to Quebec (ChacunSonVin.com) we now expect your wines to be visible to the estimated 2 million visitors we will have in the next 12 months (we've had over 1.5M in the last 12 months and that was before Quebec). Click here to see how many people are on our site right now and even where they are from.

The National Wine Awards of Canada not only promote your winning wines, but they also promote the Canadian wine industry as a whole. That's one of the reasons we are leaving our offices in Toronto to bring over 30 wine professionals to the Okanagan for a week.  We know that Canada can produce fantastic world-class wine, but there is some work to be done with the image that many consumers have of Canadian wine. Consumers can be confident that when they try one of our award winners, they are drinking wine that is comparable to some of the best in the world. In vino veritas (The truth is in the wine).

Important Notice:

Shipping to the Eastern consolidation point closes on May 27th - less one week away!  It's important that your wines are at this point on May 27th.  You can always ship first and enter them online later if you're running out of time.

June 21st-25th
Penticton, BC

WineAlign, Canada’s largest and most popular online wine site, is now accepting entries for the 2014 National Wine Awards of Canada (NWAC) “The Nationals”.

”The goal of ‘The Nationals’ is to bring together the best of Canadian wines and Canadian wine critics under one roof,” says Anthony Gismondi, co-head judge and a WineAlign principal critic.

“Each year, and this is the 14th, the competition presents a snapshot in time of the state of Canadian wine. The results are an invaluable guide for consumers and producers when it comes to finding out who is making the best wine in the country.” Anthony recently wrote an insightful column on the National Wine Awards and their 14 year history.

Over the next few weeks, we will be highlighting the top 5 reasons you should enter your wines in this exciting event.
