Xander's 'Not-so-Little' Tikes Car

Xander's super-size car compared to the standard childrens version

Xander was born with a chromosomal abnormality which causes severe learning difficulties and sensory issues. He feels anxious and unsafe outside unless he’s in his Little Tikes car.

Now he’s more of a big than a little tike, our engineers constructed a new car from scratch that means Xander can continue enjoying his garden and experiencing new things, from the comfort and safety of his familiar car.

With sponsorship from Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, we were able to make five new and improved sensory rocking chairs to help students with autism and sensory disorders at The Collett School in Hemel Hempstead. Now every student will be able to access a calming sensory rocking chair whenever they need to. Continues on our website.

We’ve launched a new website to collect and share fixes and hacks (tools, techniques and ideas to make life easier) that help disabled people to live life their way. But to find solutions, we need to hear your problems!

If you’ve had a bad experience with disability equipment or have issues doing things because of disability or ageing, post your challenge (by writing a description, using pictures or even a video to explain) and see what our community can come up with!

The award-winning Radlett Musical Theatre Company’s production of the hilarious (and x-rated!) puppet musical Avenue Q starts this Wednesday at Edge Grove School, Hertfordshire. The team will be holding a collection in support of DEMAND’s life transforming work.
