UPCOMING COMMUNITY TENANTS EVENT
Our Buildings, Our Neighbourhood - Public Meeting

Hosted by Parkdale: Organize!
Wednesday, October 21, 6:30pm
Parkdale Library Basement (1313 Queen St. West)

"Landlords like MetCap, Akelius and the Wynns want to push us out of Parkdale. When we keep quiet, they raise our rents, neglect our units, and harass us out of our homes. But when we organize, we can stop them.

When we're organized we're stronger. When we're stronger we can protect each other. Protect each other from eviction, deportation, and service cuts. We can protect this neighbourhood from all those that want to attack it. Come hear from some neighbours who are fighting back and making a difference in your neighbourhood.

Speakers will include tenants from 77 Spencer, 95, 96, and 188 Jameson.

 Hosted by Parkdale: Organize!"

"The land trust is an innovative model for land use that has the potential to not only maintain Parkdale as the diverse and dynamic neighbourhood we love, but to empower our whole community to build neighbourhoods for everyone. I became a founding member of the land trust, and so can you. Find out more on their website and join the very first AGM on October 28!" - Peggy Nash

SHOW SOLIDARITY:
Support Keep our Homes Detroit

Please check out the Keep Our Homes Detroit campaign that was launched yesterday by friends in the Detroit People's Platform and the Storehouse of Hope Community Land Trust in response to an escalating housing crisis. Learn more here.

The Keep Our Homes Detroit  campaign aims to raise $100,000 in 10 days to help keep 20 Detroit families in their homes permanently as part of the Storehouse of Hope Community Land Trust.

Members of the PNLT Board and Staff believe this is a politically inspiring campaign with so much potential to grow the seeds of an alternative economy based on solidarity and common ownership. We will be contributing and could encourage others to as well. If you do contribute please put "Toronto & PNLT Love Detroit" in your donations message.

Please spread the word and share this call on Facebook.

Thanks for your consideration
