1) Free webinars! Learning isn't just for the kiddos, which is why the IAN is continuing to host webinars on topics that relate to out-of-school programming. This month we featured topics on coding, grant opportunities, and social emotional tools for middle and highschool student. Click here to learn more.

2) Seeking Community PartnersWould you like to connect with organizations, programs or agencies that can support or enrich out-of-school programming, or is your out-of-school program in need of community partners?  Let us know! We are building a contact list of potential community partners.Click here and tell us what you can offer or need, and we will help spread the word!

3) 21st CCLC Afterschool Program Grant Workshops will be held statewide starting next week, 11/16/15.  They are free and the best way to learn about how to apply for some of the $1.5 million in funding that will be awarded next year. Click here for dates and details.   

4) Hour of Code is December 7 - 13!  The IAN is encouraging out-of-school providers to host an Hour of Code during this week.  It is easy and free. Fun for kids, families and you.  Click here to register your Hour of Code and get a free gift card to iTunes, Amazon or Windows store. 

5) Learnstorm is in Idaho!  New and free tools to teach grit and math together. Sign-ups opened 11/9/15, and this program is currently only being offered in the Bay Area, Chicago, Ireland and yes, Idaho! Click here for more details

6) Libraries! Make it at the Library 2016 Applications are now being accepted. This is a program every community needs in their local library.  Click here for details.

7) Request for Proposals! The Idaho Prevention and Support Conference is accepting RFPs until 12/4/15 to present at the Conference (held in Sun Valley 4/15-16/2016). Click for details.

8) Idaho Statewide Reading Summit is next week, 11/20/15. Registration is only $20. Great keynotes, networking, workshops and more! Click here for details.

9) New resources added to our Training & Resource tab!  Want to build an automatic scribble machine, start a Sci-Girls club, or get your community engaged in a holiday maker-volunteer project with a chance to enter for a grant? Then make sure you visit our Training and Resource tab on our website - here

10) FIRST Robotics Regional Competiton is coming to Idaho in 2016!  Form teams,support the event, learn more, click here for details. If you are forming a team let us know.  (Boise State University is seeking high school participants, including an all girls team- the Chickadess. Click here to connect with those teams.) See the fun video below too.

Thank you so much to those that hosted Lights on AfterSchool celebrations on 10/22/15!

As you may have heard, we had more hosts this year than in 2014, and we received media coverage from the east to the north.

Thank you to First Lady Otter, Mayor Steve Widmyer of Coeur d' Alene, and  Mayor Dave Bieter of Boise for joining local celebrations! Thank you also to our community partners for making the celebrations a blast: University of Idaho Extension Eat Smart Idaho and Healthy Living, Book it Forward, STEMfinity, High Five Idaho, and more!
