It's not too late to outfit yourself for the first weekend of duck season. If you prefer the extra power of a 3.5" shell, we suggest these Berettas: the A350 Xtrema (cash price $999.99; add 3% for credit card) and the A400 Xtreme Unico (cash price $1649.99; add 3% for credit card). The built-in Kick-Off recoil system and superior gas-operated components help absorb the worst of the recoil. For a versatile 3" model, we suggest the perennially popular A300 Outlander (cash price $679.99 - $769.99; add 3% for credit card). It's available in a RealTree Max-5 camo for waterfowlers. Duck season gets crackin this Saturday!

Hunters from Texas and New Mexico raised more than $90,000 at a benefit Friday night for Eileen Hicks, an avid equestrian recently injured in a devastating car accident. Eileen and her husband Richard are close friends of Chris Seed, our antelope guide and family friend. Chris called on us to help him supply firearms for the auction, which accounted for $33,000 of the final total. Ron and Terry, who traveled to Hobbs, New Mexico, to attend the benefit, were amazed at the generosity displayed by the bidders. We donated a Bushmaster AR-15 to the auction, which, judging by the photos, was a crowd pleaser. We're so proud to be a part of a community who comes together during tough times.
Hunting season is in full swing! Don't wait until the last minute before heading to the field to inspect your rig. If you run into problems, we can help. Here's a brief overview:
FUNCTION CHECK | Purchased a new shooter at a gun show? Found grandpa's 'ole Betsy hidden in the closet? Our smiths will make sure your gun is safe & shootable by assessing the gun's functionality with a thorough mechanical and parts inspection, plus a test fire. Function checks run $40 and usually take less than a week.
MUZZLEBRAKE | A popular service for many of our deer hunters, muzzlebrakes can reduce felt-recoil up to 60%. Installation is $120 and our in-house brakes run $80. Once the barrel is threaded, we recommend keeping a thread protector handy to prevent damaging exposed threads. We sell Yankee Hill protectors, accommodating all barrel widths and colors (black or stainless).
DECELERATOR PAD | We're all getting old 'round these parts, and anything that makes our bodies ache less is a godsend. Installing a Pachmayr decelerator pad can reduce felt-recoil up to 25%. Our smiths fit the decelerator to the precise contours of your stock at your preferred length of pull. Installation starts at $80 and decelerators run $48.
RECOIL REDUCER | For those who shoot the larger calibers, adding a counterweight inside the stock effectively suppresses the recoil up to 25%. Mercury reducers come in various weights and sizes, depending on your caliber and stock depth. Installation starts at $80 and reducers start at $70.
