A Collage of Thanks

With Thanksgiving just past, I've had a lot of time to reflect on what I'm thankful for!  Here are a few pictures to show what I'm thankful for!

My Family!
I am so thankful for a loving, supportive family.  

Skype!
Skype makes it feel like I'm not so far away.  I love that there is technology that can keep us connected.
















Friends!
I am still making friends here, but I'm thankful for the friends back home who continue to keep in touch with me.  I'm thankful for the people I have been able to hang out with here as well!

Faith Academy!
I am so thankful that God has this school here to serve missionary kids and their families.  I am thankful for the wonderful staff that are here and the way God has provided for Faith.

My Students!
I have fallen in love with these kids.  They are so incredible.  They are a blessing to me and are the reason I'm here!

Supporters!
I am overwhelmed with thankfulness at the generosity of my supporters.  All of you have played some part in my being here, and many of you continue to encourage me, pray for me, and support me along the way.  I could not be here without you.

SEND!
I am so thankful to be a part of SEND International.  I feel like they are family to me, and they take care of me.

Packages and Cards!
Being this far away, any time I get a package or a letter it makes my day!  I can't keep from being happy when I see a letter in my mail box! :)

Living My Dream!
I still sit here sometimes and can't believe I'm actually here.  It's been a rough transition, but I am so thankful I am here.  Not everyone can say they have lived their dream!

God!
I am so abundantly blessed.  I am thankful that God has saved me, that He chose me, that He uses me, that He blesses me, that He challenges me, that He changes me, and so much more.  I would be nothing without Him.
 

Praise Items:

  • I had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with both my coworkers for breakfast and a group of singles for supper. 
  • I have two of my best friends coming to visit me for the first part of Christmas break! I can't wait for their arrival!
  • I have been so blessed by the many people who have thought of me through letters, cards, packages, e-mails, and financial gifts.  Thank you!

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for strength to make it through the last three weeks of school.  There is SO much going on at school.  Pray that the kids also finish strong.
  • We are preparing for a week of outdoor education (OE) in February.  I will be in charge of a squad of eight sixth-grade girls.  We will have our first meeting before Christmas and will continue to meet regularly until OE.  Pray that I would be able to use this time to invest deeply into my students.
  • This will be my first Christmas not being with my family.  I don't have many plans once my friends leave, so pray that I am able to get rest and find some things to do, as many people are leaving for Christmas.
I would love to receive your Christmas card to hang on my wall! If you would like to mail one to me, use my Faith Academy address at the bottom of this e-mail!
