Blending Past and Future


The upcoming Regional Congress will offer many opportunities to share ideas about how Subud and our Region will evolve in the future. In parallel, we have begun a project to remember our past by collecting Center histories for publication in upcoming issues. We invite all Subud California Centers to participate in this project to preserve the stories of our roots.

In this issue, we present the history of our neighbor, Subud Mexico.

It's Time to Register for Regional Congress


On May 27-30, we will gather at the Lions Gate Hotel and adjacent McClellan Convention Center in Sacramento for our 2016 Regional Congress. Learn more about the spacious venue and register for the Congress​ here.

The deadline for booking hotel rooms under our Congress rate is Friday, May 6th. Please call the hotel at (916) 643-6222 and identify yourself as an attendee of the Subud Congress to reserve your room before the deadline!  Read More about Lodging

Letter from the Chair: Why are We All Here?

Inspired by the recent helpers meeting and by the Bapak quote shared in this issue, Robert Mertens writes, "I see and feel signs everywhere that Bapak’s wish and urging are becoming manifest both through the evolution of our bodies and the indwelling of a higher and wider soul... I believe that Subud is a catalyst for a big body/brain jump that will make us and this world wide enough to hold a more beautiful and embracing spirit."  Read more

"Renewing Angel" is part of an exhibit called "Inside the Mystery" featuring works of Robert Mertens at the Lark Gallery Hawthorne in LA through May 18. 

Remembrance Table

As we gather together for our congress, we will know that some of our dear sisters and brothers have moved onward in their journey. The annual Remembrance Table is an opportunity to include them in our prayerful way.
