Rob J. Vreeken PhD, (Janssen Pharmaceutica, Beerse, Belgium). He received his Ph.D. from the Free University of Amsterdam (NL). After leading the pharma-unit at Avantium (CRO, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) he joined the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre (Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, Leiden University, The Netherlands) as Assistant Professor to create and directed the Central Lab facility. Next to teaching, he developed novel strategies for e.g. (endogenous) metabolite identification and advanced lipidomics, which were used for biomarker discovery in inflammatory processes.
