Uncovering the unseen risks | Acis All Areas - February 2015

Dear Acis All Areas Subscriber,

Welcome to 2015. The Acis team has already been on the road, meeting with clients in Western Australia, Victoria and around south east Queensland.

Our conversations often turn to the challenges practitioners are facing in transitioning towards advisory-based business models. There is no doubt this is commanding a great deal of everyone’s time and energy.

Unseen risk, and the potential fallout for practitioners and their clients, is something we continue to observe across the market. In this issue of Acis All Areas, we provide further examples of what that risk looks like and some of the potential risks you face.

And with the recent anniversary of the Queensland floods, it came to mind that another potential exposure for our clients is that of lost trust deeds. It’s no secret that many vital documents were destroyed, numerous trust deeds among them. But all is not necessarily lost!

And speaking of loss, we often receive queries about the use of electronic signatures. When can (or, indeed, should) they be utilised? We provide you with some important answers.

Enjoy the read,
Matt
