God Did It!
“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, ‘The LORD has done great things for them.’ The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.” Psalm 126:2
As I sit to write this great news to all of you, I am speechless and in awe of God’s great faithfulness and goodness. God did it! He brought in 100% of my support! I knew He would in His perfect timing, and now, just 2 ½ weeks before I leave, I have received enough faith promises to push me over my support goal! God used so many of you to do this great work of His, and I know that as a result, God will continue to work. Thank you to all of you who have given, prayed, and encouraged me in this support-raising journey.
It Begins - Your Ministry and Mine!
If you have heard my presentation, you know that I share that my coming ministry in the Philippines is a team effort. I am just one player on this team, and all of you are my fellow teammates. So now that I am finished with support-raising, there will be new roles you can play to be active members of this team. Here are some ideas for how you can continue to be involved:
- Pray!
- Encourage – You can simply reply to an update, send an e-mail, Facebook message me, write a snail-mail letter, or send a package (see the addresses at the bottom of this e-mail). Any of these gestures will encourage me!
- Consider adopting a student – I hope to set up an “adopt a student” program so that all of my students have people regularly praying for them. Look for more info in coming updates!
- Continue giving faithfully - If you have committed to a faith promise and have not set up your giving yet, e-mail me back if you need help knowing how to do that.
- Share with others what God is doing - Let the verse at the beginning of this e-mail be true for all of us! May God receive all the glory!
I am so thankful to be a part of such an incredible team. It is so hard for me to say goodbye to physically being with all of you, but I am so excited for what is to come. Watch out! There is no telling what God will do!
A Brief Schedule
Here is my timeline for the next month or so. Please pray with me through this huge transition.
- July 3 – Going away party in Omaha, NE
- July 5 – Fly to Detroit for SEND’s Member Orientation Program (MOP)
- July 17 – MOP ends
- July 18 – Leave Detroit to fly to Manila. I will leave around 7:50 am and arrive there on the 19th around 11:30 pm local time (around 10:30 am CT on the 19th)
- July 22 – 24 – New Staff Training at Faith Academy
- July 27 – 29 – All Staff Retreat
- August 5 – First Day of School!
