TTR energy group swan song? or was it?

by Tony Cowling
The energy group was involved several years ago with Reading Energy Pioneers facilitating over 40 early uptake domestic solar PV installations, launching DraughtBusters and the initial talking about the hydro project. The energy group is is now in whisper mode here but very active elsewhere. It reformed in early 2015  to launch an ambitious community solar PV project. After some very fancy footwork and several transmogrifications Reading Community Energy Society became the first Community Energy project in Reading with almost quarter of a megawatt of panels on charity and community buildings. They are planning to roll out a second wave of installations and are looking for help with this. Ideal buildings will be roughly south facing have steel roofs, sympathetic and fleet footed management and these can now include commercial organisations too.

Seven Coats: Divesting for Beginniners | 7th September @ St Bart's Theatre, Reading
What connects a 4000-year-old myth and the modern fossil fuel industry?
"The Seven Coats starts on the day when I stop being a community activist and find myself unable to write the Transition story anymore", says Charlotte Du Cann, co-author and performer of the piece, together with her partner Mark Watson.
Hosted by The Festival of the Dark, held in Reading on 7th September 2017, Seven Coats: Divesting for Beginniners it's a journey which leads Innana, Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the spectators through the seven gates of The Great Below, leaving an aspect of the upperworld power behind, at each crossed gate.
