Third Calling Goes to Australia

Re-Ignite Co-directors, Richard and Leona Bergstrom, recently traveled to the land "down-under" to share the message of Third Calling and Re-Ignite. Partnering with CMA (Christian Ministry Advancement) to launch the new ministry of Q4 Connections, the Bergstroms spoke in five different conferences in as many cities. Speaking to Aussie Boomers, Richard and Leona provided plenary addresses as well as workshops on the subjects of finding purpose and passion in this season of life, discovering one's unique design, and developing a plan for living out a Third Calling.

Greetings from Adelaide, Australia!
Richard leads a session entitled "Swimming Against the Stream" to a conference in Brisbane, Australia, The meetings were held in the famous Gabba Stadium where Footie and cricket are played. We met in a side room (not the 42,000 seat stadium). Adele performed there a few days later!
The Q4 Connections Conference Team: (left to right) Bruce and Judy Bruinsma, Envoy Financial, Colorado Springs; Keith Farmer, seasoned pastor, mentor and speaker from Sydney; Gary Williams, Executive Director, CMA, Tamborline, Australia; Paul Arnott, Q4 Director, Melbourne, Australia; Leona and Richard Bergstrom, Re-Ignite, Seattle, Washington
Leona teaches "Discover Your Design" to Boomers in Melbourne, Australia. The audience was very responsive to the message of Third Calling; many were in transition or early retirement.
This Q4 Gathering in Sydney was held at a Golf Resort. We, as speakers, had a great view of the golf course.
Richard and Leona spoke about the power of our Third Calling at a luncheon in Launceston, Tasmania.
POWERFUL STORIES
Listening to the stories of those who attended the Q4 Conferences reminded us of how important it is to consider and plan for a Third Calling. Some shared they had been anticipating retirement for years–knowing that at age 65 they are expected to become "pensioners." Many were excited for the adventure, others were apprehensive and sometimes full of dread. A few early retirees shared they lasted about 2 weeks after retiring before they wanted to find something else to do! One participant shared he had been let go from his position after 25 years of service. He felt his age (57) was the reason; he was in absolute despair. Our prayer for our Australian friends, as well as Boomers in the U.S., is they will intentionally seek God's leading and purpose for this new season of life. We hope our book, Third Calling; What are you doing the rest of your life? will be a tool to help navigate the journey.
