Early-Bird Tickets Available: IBPSA-USA Summer Meeting in Long Beach
Set sail for building modeling! IBPSA-USA cordially invites you to our 2017 Summer Meeting. Come join us at the RMS Queen Mary to share and discuss IBPSA-USA news, and enjoy the guest presenters for the evening. Theme for the night and agenda to be announced soon.
Most simulation programs used in the US today can trace their history back through more than 40 years of publicly funded software R&D. Acronyms abound... It’s clear to me that my work as a simulation practitioner today would not be possible without those contributions and that public investment.

IBPSA-USA March for Science Support Proposal
On Earth Day, April 22, 2017, gatherings will be held around the country to acknowledge “robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity.” IBPSA-USA is proposing a policy statement regarding the March for Science, and we'd like feedback from our members. Take our survey and tell us what you think, and let us know if you plan to participate in the march.
NYC Chapter Passive House Webinar Series, part 2: Intro to the Passive House Institute (PHI) & Passive House Planning Package
View a recording of this NYC Chapter webinar, held on 3/16/17. This webinar is the second of a 3-part series about passive house standards. It explores the development of the International Passive House standard and generally reviews how to achieve certification for new and existing buildings.
March 23: Estimating Food Process Loads for Energy Modeling - Denver Chapter
Food process loads account for 30-60% of energy use in restaurants and are significant loads in mixed use buildings. Further, techniques for estimating peak loads and energy-use budgets change as the design evolves. This presentation will provide insight into estimating methods as the design progresses and point to some publicly available tools to help refine estimates. Join online or in-person.
March 23: IBPSA-USA San Diego Chapter March Workshop
Join the new San Diego Chapter for their March meeting where they'll talk about ASHRAE 209P - Energy Simulation Guidelines underwork by ASHRAE and IBPSA collaboration for early design simulation guidelines. They'll also talk about early design analysis and the approach to gain the best conclusions from simulations. Join online or in-person.
March 30: Computational Design Strategies for Environmental Simulation - Chicago Chapter
This presentation will focus on environmental simulations, including shadow analysis, solar irradiation, and daylighting. Through various case studies, we will explore various analyses, and strategies for visualizing and using the results during the design process. Join online or in-person.
