When It’s Best to Walk Away
We know the importance of leaning in, showing up and being engaged. Whether it’s about career, creativity or community, we know we need to be present for ourselves and others, to share our knowledge, and let our voice be heard.
Sometimes it’s a struggle to show up. Sometimes it’s hard to speak out.
Sometimes, though, the hardest thing is to know when to be quiet, when to walk away, and when to refrain from engaging.
If we listen closely, our intuition will tell us where to use our voice, when to share our talent, and who we need to be present for.
The voices of guilt, fear and ego often shout, when intuition only whispers.
Often, by being present, we demonstrate the value we bring to any situation.
Occasionally, we come to understand that we are not served by participating in a project, event, relationship or conversation. Then, we recognize our own value by simply disengaging.
Your words and energy are valuable. Share them where they make a difference. When they don’t, have the strength to walk away.
