ATMann’s April Libra Full Moon Astrology Newsletter

Listen to a recording of this newsletter

The April Full Moon happened in Libra on Tuesday, April 11 at 2:09 AM EDT. You probably felt it as you couldn’t get to sleep that night! The individualistic and instinctive Aries Sun is approaching its conjunction with the quirky and technological Uranus in three days, and this combination makes for intensified self-expression, reforms and positive initiatives for change, but can also trigger irrational thoughts and actions. The Libra Moon, who usually brings composure and diplomacy, is conjunct the retrograde optimist Jupiter, showing that while positive changes are posited in the world, they may face opposition and resistance due to entrenched beliefs, religious attitudes and overly positive positions that cannot be backed up. It is surely a mix of positive and strange issues in concert. The oppositional dynamic from these four is complex and contradictory.

I worked on these energies yesterday by driving to give a Feng Shui consultation to a Danish couple on their land in upstate New York and enjoyed walking through the field and woods, tracking the water and earth energies. They are doing it the right way with Permaculture, passive solar, straw bale buildings, and the right energies. It was a perfect use of the day’s energies and launched a new stage of realizations.

Since Mercury is just beginning its retrograde cycle in the sluggish fixed Taurus, everyone will remember past slights and our own thoughts of what “might have been” could easily dominate our memories and actions, if we let them. Of course, analyzing the past is a favorite pastime for many of us, but when you think about it more creatively, there is little value in such practices, so try to “live in the present” as many glibly say, at least for the next few weeks until Mercury goes back into the hyperactive Aries and things rapidly move ahead! Realistically, looking to the past can be of great benefit now, especially historical and ancient resonances that teach us about our deeper selves are always welcome. Since Mercury’s lone aspect is a frustrating quincunx to the power body of the Moon’s Node in the refined Virgo, we will subject our mental dynamics to more scrutiny than usual in the next weeks.

Of interest, given the military moves recently is that the Full Moon participants are closely connected to the fiery and aggressive Mars in the benign Taurus, showing that it was a half-hearted attempt to warn others rather than a serious attack on people or an airfield as again a quincunx shows that it was close to making its mark without really saying much of value. The square to Pluto in the pragmatic and materialistic Capricorn near the Ascendant shows that it did rile certain allies as well as enemies, as square show changes in direction, shifts in attitude and overall an attempt to change certain emotional perceptions in a more aggressive way. Did they work is the question we are left with….

Another slightly strange constellation involves Mars and Pluto with the odd conjunction between the storyteller of our wounds Chiron with the retrograding keeper of our values, our loves and our heart energies Venus, both in the inward Pisces, which on a positive level can lead to breakthroughs caused by reforging alliances with those with varying interests and value systems, while the connections to Mars and Pluto make them quite naturally more tense and demonstrate the variances between sets of viewpoints that were formerly seen as sympathetic and connected. Expect unusual communications, changes of heart and even the desire to change the tone of close relationships, and it wouldn’t be surprising if we felt a deeper connection to other influences from our past coming back to enervate us. That the Sagittarian philosophical and yet inhibited Saturn is square to this conjunction shows that wisdom is still extant and that it would be valuable to understand past events, attitudes and even beliefs about ourselves and others close to us. This is because Saturn is also retrograde these days, delving backwards into Sagittarius, which demonstrates that prior roles that involved belief and religious systems are not far from our awareness and consciousness. These constellations will challenge us to revalue things, and might even create positive shifts by allowing change to happen rather than sticking to formulae that never worked that well.

Neptune is still in its sign Pisces, ensuring that no one know the truth about anything, which seems to be the buzzword of this time. Due to its quincunx to Jupiter, the variances of “truths” get greater and greater every day and exaggerations seem to be the name of the game, writ large. It is difficult to imagine how disorienting this is, as evidenced by the many clients and friends of mine who have written or called wondering whether they were alone in feeling completely disoriented, if not verging on craziness these days. If this includes you, you are not alone…..

This coming weekend on April 15th I will be giving a workshop on “Astrology and the Art of Healing” from 11AM—6PM at Golden Drum in Brooklyn. Contact me for more information or if you have any questions, and you are welcome to attend, but need to check in beforehand so I can make charts for you to use. In addition, my daughter Ptolemy Mann is having two shows of her carpets at Kea Carpets and Kilims in Hudson on 22 April and in their shop in Brooklyn on 6 May. If you are interested in seeing her rugs or meeting her, there will be openings on those two days.

As always, I am available for Life Time Astrology and Mandala Astrological Tarot readings, so be in touch to see your next year or a whole life scan starting at conception. Also if you are interested in a short introduction to my work you can see an hour online talk I gave recently “Who Initiated Your Conception” with lots of images.

All the best, and enjoy Easter and Passover and the arrival of Spring,
Tad

The April Libra Full Moon shows stresses and contradictions, while also promoting unconscious actions to arise from planets below the horizon. So sleep well... if you can.
My daughter Ptolemy Mann is having two shows of her rugs, in Hudson and Brooklyn at Kea Carpets, Apr 22 & May 6. Details.
