The Great North Snowdogs are on their way...
Sunderland is taking the lead in ensuring the city welcomes thousands of visitors as The Great North Snowdogs trail, the largest initiative of its kind ever to take place in the North East, gets underway this Monday (19 September).
Sixty One, 1.5m high sculptures, inspired by Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman and The Snowdog will be in place in key locations, each uniquely decorated by professional artists and celebrities.
Fourteen large Snowdogs are set to be placed in key locations around the Sunderland area, including Park Lane, the Bridges, the National Glass Centre, SAFC, Market Square, Keel Square, Sunniside, Blandford St and at the Minster, with a number of smaller dogs also set to take up residence around Sunderland as part of a mini dog trail.
The trail will run across the region from September 19 to November 29.
