Brilliant Days; Cool Nights

It's been a busy Autumn! At our Connections Gathering in October, more than 40 people came together for interactions including a sharing circle about possibilities for Subud, a working meeting of the Regional Council, experiencing "The Way of Council" and "The Game," plus yoga, walks and lots of latihan. Everything was enhanced by the scenic mountain setting.

We give thanks for our fellowship and wish you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving.

A Weekend of Connections

At our first Connections Gathering on the weekend of October 7-10, we were very fortunate to have representatives from Subud USA including USA Chair Mary Wold, SES USA Chair Susannah Rosenthal and two National helpers: Alexandra Boyer and Lianne Card.

It was a special opportunity for council members and other attendees to mingle with members of San Joaquin Subud, many of whom attended events throughout the Gathering. The Center hosted a sumptuous potluck dinner on Saturday evening at the Chamber building. After the meal, many people shared a story or a song, creating an evening full of warmth and laughter.

Possibilities for Subud

During the Connections Gathering, Robert Mertens held a sharing circle at which he invited participants to declare a possibility which inspires them, and which might contribute to the health of Subud.

The thoughts shared were wide ranging and included actions to connect Subud to local communities, strengthen Subud Centers, support older members, grow through the latihan, build new connections, and develop courage and harmony. Explore the possibilities.

San Diego has it Covered

San Diego has completed a series of key renovation projects for their Center, starting with new skylights (as reported in Dec 2015 issue), foundation repair (as reported in the Sept 2016 issue) and now with installation of a new roof and drain, for which they had financial assistance through a loan from the Region. They give thanks for the guidance of the Regional Property Management Committee and also Luqman Katz of LA who reviewed the plans. The members look forward to being dry for the rainy season!

Early Days at Subud Sacramento
