Announcing the 2017 Regional Congress!

Santa Barbara is the location for our next Regional Congress. Because Ramadan occurs over the Memorial Day weekend this year, Congress is scheduled for August 11-14, a convenient time for family vacations and seaside adventures.

The setting is UC Santa Barbara's new Sierra Madre Village, which offers residential style apartments and modern meeting rooms.  It is located about a mile west of campus center and about a mile north of the ocean, with lots of hiking trails nearby.  Co-chairs, Leo Horthy and Rosana Schutte, are seeking volunteers now for the Congress team.   Read more

Celebrating Together

A number of celebratory events occurred at our centers around the Region. On December 11, there was gathering at Subud Palo Alto which featured holiday snacks and a sing-along.  See photos.

The Los Angeles Center has initiated regular monthly member events, holding a birthday lunch on the 3rd Saturday and a General Meeting on the 4th Saturday for member testing.

World Congress Team Seeks Volunteers

Preparation is well underway for the Subud 2018 World Congress in Freiberg, Germany.   The planning team is well established and is now seeking volunteers for functions including accommodations, translations and registration. If you plan to attend, this is a great way to be more fully engaged with at the Congress! Read more about volunteer opportunities

Early Days at Subud San Diego

As part of our ongoing project to collect stories about the early days of Subud California, here is a story from Ruben Andrews about the formation of the San Diego Center, in the period of 1966-1970. It was the time of the summer of love, when psychedelics were explored as a part of spiritual experience. The latihan space started out in the balcony of exhibition hall in Balboa Park!  Read more

Call to Action on Elderberry Project

Elderberry Project is a Susila Dharma project started by Mardiyah Tarantino at the urging of Ibu Rahayu to see that older Subud Members continue to receive the latihan when travel becomes a challenge.

Elderberry is looking for enthusiastic persons willing to assist Mardiyah Tarantino with the work. Hamidatun Karapetian is active in this role for Subud LA. Other centers in our Region can take action to engage as well.  Check out the website where contact info is given, should you be interested. THANK YOU!

Thoughts on Community

"We each view reality from our own unique perspective, only a community of minds can show us the truth."
