Giving Thanks!
Like many of you, we gathered with family this last week to give thanks to God for His many abundant blessings. We were especially thankful to spend some extended time in Missouri with Jon's family. It was a full, busy, loud week with 8 adults and 8 kids all less than 7 years old sharing one space! The experience was bittersweet for us as we realized this is likely to be our last Thanksgiving in the US for several years. However, the sweet most definitely outweighed the bitter. We give thanks to God for family and friends that love and care for us. For good food and taste buds, for laughter and naps and good books and games. Most of all, we are thankful for God's Word, and the Word who became flesh, dwelt among us, and died for us.

We also want to take a moment to thank each of you who have already partnered with our Wycliffe ministry through encouragement, prayer, and financial giving. We are so thankful to God - you are an answer to our prayers, and one of the biggest blessings of the year!!
What will we be doing in Papua New Guinea (PNG)?
We're frequently asked about what day-to-day life will look like in PNG.  The short answer is we're not really sure, but here are a few details:
  • We've heard we'll spend roughly half our time on Wycliffe's main base located at Ukarumpa (see picture above). When in Ukarumpa, the boys will attend school, Jenny will serve as a nurse in the clinic (which serves missionary families and ~25,000 indigenous people), and Jon will continue translation support work 'remotely'.
  • The other half of our time will be spent in a village in the language group we are assigned. There are over 300 language groups waiting for a translation project to be started! We might be assigned to a work in progress, or start a new project. We won't know what the current needs are until we get there.
  • The food, the housing, the people, and other details will vary a lot and are things we look forward to learning about once we are settled and assigned a project.
Praise and Prayer Requests
  • Praise: for opportunities to share in Fargo, ND and Columbia, MO
  • Praise: we are now over 60% of our Wycliffe monthly budget committed
  • Pray: for the Lord to continue building our Wycliffe partnership team
  • Pray: for wisdom to prepare for upcoming transitions (house repairs, baby's arrival, selling house, downsizing, etc)
