Building Information Modeling

Call to Action Video
A clear transformation is needed for the Canadian architecture, engineering, construction, owners and operations (AECOO) community to improve its performance and contribute more effectively to the societal, environmental and economic development of Canada. The Canadian chapter (bSC) of buildingSMART International (bSI), a council of the Institute for BIM in Canada (IBC), firmly believes that this transformation should be supported by more collaborative approaches to project delivery based on building information modeling (BIM) tools, technologies and processes that are aligned with other similar initiatives currently under way around the globe. In light of this, bSC has developed a roadmap to prompt, guide and sustain this transformation. Watch video

Experience Mexico’s Amazing Nature
Last week Mexico announced tripling the size of its protected natural areas, setting aside 65 million hectares of land and marine zones. (See this link for the announcement) In Quintana Roo, the state where our conference will be held, the Mexican Caribbean Biosphere Reserve protects 5.75 million hectares, covering 50 percent of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (MBRS).

At the CCA conference, you’ll have lots of opportunities to experience Mexico’s nature. One of the options for Monday’s CCA Tour is called Cobá Mayan Encounter and you get to visit a secluded Maya village and enjoy its well-preserved natural beauty, lagoons, cenotes (sinkholes), jungle paths, and the natural reserve that protects the local flora and fauna. Watch video of the Cobà Mayan Encounter tour activities or read more about the CCA Tour
Tuesday’s event – included in the conference price – at the eco-archeological park Xcaret! gives you another chance to swim in the underground rivers, walk the jungle trail or see animals like jaguars, pumas, monkeys and many more. Read more about our event at Xcaret!
