Birralee Billboard - Welcome to 2017!

Welcome to 2017! We hope you all had a relaxing festive season and are ready for a huge year.

Rehearsals begin Tuesday 7 February, with ensemble rehearsal days noted in the next section.

With a lot going on in the year ahead, we've written this month's blog as a preview to 2017. Make sure you take note of some of the date claimers!

Member numbers are looking strong for this year, however, we still have a number of places available in our Birralee Piccolos and Kids, Birralee Singers and Birralee Blokes ensembles. If you know anyone who'd like to sing with us this year, please direct them to our website.

In other news, a huge thanks to everyone who pledged in our WW1 Commissioning Project via Pozible. It was a fantastic effort and we raised $4,825 to commission new music to pay homage particularly to our Anzacs who served in the Somme.

We hope you have a great start to the year and we look forward to seeing you soon!

WELCOME MARGIE!

We're delighted to welcome our new Office Administrator, Margie Francis.

Margie has been a member of VoB since she was nine-years-old and it is lovely to see her filling this role now as a young adult.

Last year she completed her Bachelor of Music at UQ and is excited about combining her love of music with her interest in the broader arts scene, including administration and events.

We look forward to having Margie as part of the team and she will be happy to answer any of your queries during her office hours:

Our signature children's choir, Brisbane Birralee Voices come together for a weekend of singing to get ready for the year ahead.

BIRRALEE COMMUNITY NOTICEBOARD!

We've re-launched our Facebook community group allowing our Birralee Members, and those closely connected with our organisation, to buy, swap or sell items that are related to our music interests.

This is a great platform to connect as a community and to sell any unneeded uniforms, or instruments, and lots more.

NEED A NEW BANK ACCOUNT FOR 2017?

Voices of Birralee has been banking with Bank of Queensland for a number of years and because of this great relationship, our local branch would like to invite Birralee members looking for a new fee free everyday account to get in touch. For every 10 accounts opened, the branch will donate $100 to our Western Front Anzac Centenary Choir touring project!

The account includes a free Visa Debit Card with limited overseas fees attached. Great for those touring next year and beyond to get their travel funds sorted.
