The program allows students to gain professional experience, for the School to build and develop its links with the professions, and for practices to connect with architecture and landscape architecture students who will soon finish their studies and graduate from The University of Adelaide. ![]() Matiya Marovich wins Jack Hobbs McConnell Travelling FellowshipThe SA Chapter is pleased to announce Matiya Marovic as the recipient of this year's Jack Hobbs McConnell Travelling Fellowship. Matiya will use the fellowship to investigate the potential applications of timber construction in urban and regional Australia with the intention to champion renewable and sustainably farmed timber as a key component in the transition to more sustainable construction methods.The judging panel were thoroughly impressed with the quality of applications submitted and were encouraged by the record number received, however, ultimately identified with the clarity and conviction of Matiya’s proposal and its potential to have an immediate impact on his development in his craft and the growth of his burgeoning practice. |

![]() Changes associated with Efficient Dwellings projectThe Department of the Environment and Energy has engaged the Moreland Energy Foundation, an independent not-for-profit organisation, to undertake a study into how the building industry has achieved building dwellings with higher thermal performance and the practice of voluntary improvement to thermal performance beyond the regulatory minimum.The online survey, consists of 10 questions and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Your industry input is valuable to obtaining a balanced view of the changes that industry has implemented and are associated with constructing more efficient dwellings, including to meet minimum regulatory requirements in Australia. |
