PMSC - are you still compliant?

Every three years the Maritime and Coastguard Agency invite Duty Holders to sign a statement describing their organisation’s compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code.   The next round of compliance statements is due on or before the 31st March 2018.

NORA: new alliance for native oysters

In November 2017, Caroline Roberts, aquaculture specialist at ABPmer, was invited to attend a three-day European flat oyster restoration workshop organised by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) in Berlin.

Is it time to rethink the format of Environmental Statements?

People currently starting in the workplace have not known a time without the internet.  This is the Digital Generation born after 1995 who have grown up with digital technologies and are proficient with it.

Technology has shaped their world and how they see themselves. They understand and speak its language knowing how to navigate between real/virtual and public/private online worlds. They have opinions and freely share them and will not be told what they can and cannot have; compiling their own playlists, getting news direct from Twitter, creating their own Youtube channels. The Digital Generation expect data and information to be available online and to be able to interact with it.

On 26 October 2017, the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) held their annual GeoCom conference in London.  This year the theme was 'Smart Geospatial' and Daniel Williamson, a GIS specialist at ABPmer, was part of the working group that organised and ran the event.

Just like in our personal lives, we want to wish everyone we know in our working lives a happy Christmas and prosperous new year.
