The Beam Family will lose their home on the Peace River thanks to Site C
Dear Friends,
As you have heard by now, the BC NDP has announced their decision to move forward with the Site C dam…however,
WE HAVE NOT COMPLETELY GIVEN UP!
Why?
The NDP justified their decision to continue Site C stating the combined construction and remediation costs would be put on the province’s books immediately, thus increasing the debt of the province so significantly that it would downgrade our credit rating (leading to increased costs of borrowing) and leave absolutely no money available for any other projects throughout the province.
Our experts question this and in fact, a letter has been sent to BC’s Auditor General asking her to look into it.
Other initiatives for addressing the fallacy of the decision and working towards getting it rectified are also in the works. More information will be shared with you all in the new year.
Meanwhile…
Several families living in the Peace River Valley are now dealing with the Grinch who stole their homes at Christmas. They have bills piled up from hiring experts to assist them with their battle and at the same time are faced with losing their homes due to continued Site C construction. Please help relieve the weight of these circumstances at this difficult time by making a donation and adding your message to the Grinch in the ‘message’ section on the donation page. The messages will be collected until Dec 25th and sent to the BC NDP.
