Message from our Founder:
This year has felt like an incredibly long endurance marathon - one that has me still inching towards the finishing as we leap into 2018. The other day, I posted this same message with a post-workout picture with my Super T's Mast Cell Foundation tank on. I often wear my Super T's Mast Cell Tank or my EDS Wellness "Just 5 Minutes" tank when I need a good reminder to dig deep for strength & patience, and when I need several reminders to breathe deeply (& often).
It’s important to share that there really aren’t enough words to express how deeply grateful I am for the support, encouragement and strength I’ve received this year from all those who have stood by me (ie. with EDS Wellness & all else) - in person and virtually. This year has left me for a loss for words. Humbling only begins to describe how I feel. I’ve been challenged to the core of by my being in ways that I never expected - or, at least in ways that I did not imagine after all that I’ve gone through and fought for over the last 5+ years.
While I do not know the path(s) that 2018 will lead me down, I do feel more than content with the work and projects I’ve had the pleasure to work on for the broader EDS & hypermobility Disorders community - several of which are nearing final final completion. Finally.
I'm setting my intentions for the new year on the ability to refocus after the break and continue on past completed projects, onto newly discovered paths - ones that steer me towards new finish lines in 2018 and years beyond.
Most importantly, I would not have a prayer to continue the work I do, in any capacity, if not for my wonderful volunteers, EDS Wellness’ Board of Directors & members of our advisory boards, and all of the providers I’ve come to know and those I’ve been blessed to work closely with, including EDS Wellness’ & Wellapalooza’s conference speakers.
And I would not be still standing (or sitting on my couch) typing this post, if I did not have the support of EDS Wellness’ nonprofit collaborative & corporate partners, our individual donors (who have given generously, even a few dollars if and when they could, because every little bit helps immensely), my friends and family, and most importantly, the EDS & broader hypermobility communities.
Thank you for staying by my side, supporting the work I do (& why), and for believing in & supporting the mission and vision of EDS Wellness to help individuals restore function & live well. I’m forever grateful to have you all walking this journey with me - none of us should ever feel alone.
Happy New Year!
