Out with the Old, In with the New
Whenever we get a break in our performance schedule, we use the opportunity to address studio upkeep and upgrades. In this case, our studio flooring was in need of work! Our old floor was wearing out, with bubbles and wear spots that we would creatively work around during practices. The edging was also coming apart, and we had more than one instance of cuts on the feet, so it was time to take action!
Above: Saying goodbye to our old floor tile!
It was truly a team effort, with all of our performing members chipping in to remove the old floor tiles and lay new ones.
Below: After the old floor tile was removed, our members mopped the concrete subfloor - and mopped some more - to prepare it for the new flooring.
Above: "Twins" Theresa and Katie are practicing a new piece on the newly finishing floor. Their nearly identical attire is purely coincidence!
We're happy to have the new floor in place, one that is free of bubbles and other tripping hazards, just in time for summer performance practices!
