Today is Joseph D'Eugenio Day!

The Mayor of Middletown has declared that today, June 13, 2018, is Joseph D'Eugenio day in Middletown, CT! Mayor Daniel Drew issued the proclamation to honor our Maestro as he concludes his 20th season as Artistic Director of the GMChorale.

Nancy Schultz, president of the GMChorale's Board of Directors, presents to Artistic Director Joseph D'Eugenio a proclamation from the Mayor of Middletown, declairing June 13, 2018 to be Joseph D'Eugenio Day. The presentation took place at the GMChorale's Gala on Sunday June 10, with a large crowd of happy revelers looking on.

The proclamation from the Mayor's Office recognized Maestro D'Eugenio's many achievements with the GMChorale over the past two decades, including commissions of new music; leading tours across Europe and across Connecticut; and most recently, establishing Alchemy, the new chamber ensemble of the GMChorale, which is dedicated to furthering the GMChorale's emerging "Singing for a Lifetime" initiative.

The Mayor particularly recognized that through Maestro D'Eugenio, the GMChorale has "fostered an environment where singers of all ages and from all backgrounds can come together to make music in an environment of trust, respect, inclusion, excellence, and professionalism; where 'Singing for a Lifetime' has become more than a slogan; and where, as one member of the GMChorale recently said, “excellence is pursued in a caring way.”
