Hello Semiahmoo Arts Society Members,
The above quote really resonated for me. I am so grateful to live in a community that values community arts - not all communities are so lucky. Many Arts Councils are but a P.O Box - leaving folks with no easy way to connect. Semiahmoo Arts is very fortunate to be in amongst the community here at the South Surrey Rec. & Arts Centre. We help encourage folks to appreciate and practice art.
We are also excited for the future of community arts. This summer we will provide Art Camps to over 400 children and we are confident 1 or 2 of them will stay artists as adults.
Many thanks to our volunteers, Wendy Christy, Pat Higinbotham, Eva K, Heather-jane Robertson, Barbara Cooper, Nina Igonin, Bruna Sbranchella, Carole Milne, Lesley Tannen, Sandy Cave, Daphne Tate, Cindy Sandboe, Brandy McLean, Robin McLean, Etsuko Fujita, Susan Falk, Linda Detlor, Melissa Gollan, Babara Carter, Laurel Tien, Sara Nadeau, and Shawna Godler whose hard work over the past several weeks has helped our organization immensely.
Enjoy then sun,
Melanie Watts; Operations Coordinator
