My new M42 steel signature range with Ash handle

Hello friend,
I am very happy to introduce my new signature tool range made with M42 steel. The ash handle will make it easy to recognise them from the darker beech handles of my original signature tools. All tools can be viewed here. On the website I also have my DVD range (disks and downloads) as well as a selection of tools that I have designed or along with tools I believe are a 'must-have' in the workshop. My signature tool range can be purchased from leading tool suppliers around the world or from my online shop.

Below I have posted a few photos of recent classes and groups. It is wonderful to see the world of turning expanding all the time. In the past few months I have had families, groups of friends, work colleagues and lots of people new to turning as well as people from all over the world who know me from my videos or from a symposium. My class schedule has been updated and so I have lots of 1-day courses for beginners or to refresh your skill. The 3-day and 5-day classes are for intermediate to advanced and are best suited to people who own their own lathe or have regular access to one and practice often. The new Tormek diamond wheels go on sale this month. They are offering three wheels which are coarse 360 grit, fine 600 grit, and extra fine 1200 grit. Having tried and tested each of them, if I was to choose one for every day fine sharpening of my woodturning tools, it would be the 1200 grit. Make sure your jig settings are accurate so that you hit the right spot every time.

It achieves an incredible edge in seconds. I recommend using it with water and their anti-corrosion additive, this helps keep the wheel clean and prevent magnetic filings sticking to the tool edge. The wheels stay flat with no dressing and are a dream to use. I have been using the 600 grit for over one and a half years with superb results and was keen to try the 1200 grit. If you have to reshape your tools then an additional purchase of the coarse wheel would be a good idea. It is quite effective at material removal.
