RESEARCH UNDERWAY

Government Survey

Council, in partnership with Service NSW and Resilience NSW has been contacting bushfire affected residents to hear how recovery efforts are proceeding and learn more about what can be done to help in the months ahead. Keep an eye out for the special email invitation.

We know that email doesn’t work for everyone so our recovery team will also be reaching out by phone when required. Call our dedicated Bushfire Recovery Hotline on phone 1800 316 500 to speak to one of our team members if you require assistance.

RFS Survey

The Bushfire & Natural Hazards CRC, commissioned by the NSW RFS, is undertaking research into people’s experiences of the 2019-20 bush fires in NSW.

They are interested in hearing a range of stories and views from people who were directly and indirectly affected by the fires, including residents and tourists from all parts of NSW. Interviews will take place via telephone or video conferencing.

The results of the study will be used to inform strategies to improve community bush fire safety in NSW.

More information around participation is available on the NSW RFS website at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/news-and-media/general-news/research-into-the-2019-2020-bush-fires
