COVID-19 Update

We're sure you know it already and got excited about Premier's announcing relaxing COVID restrictions especially related to swimming pools!
Though some of us prefer salinity over chlorination ;) we are all impatiently waiting for coming back to our normal training routines.

Please take a look at the our COVID roadmap which outlines how COVID restrictions will work in our state.

COVID WA ROAD MAP

With the road map in mind our HBF Stadium advised us of that the lane access will be limited to WAIS and UWA until at least the 25th May.
Lanes not secured by WAIS and UWA West Coast will be allocated according to the priority usage charter and the practicality of having various user groups at the pool.  It is safe to assume that Claremont Masters will be getting access more likely in mid-June before Claremont Masters are considered for access.

We still need to be patient...and hopefully enjoying OWS.  We will update you with any changed re HBF lane restrictions.

In the meantime please, remember;

  • Covid-19 remains a threat.
  • There is NO vaccination.
  • Physical Distancing and Good Hand Hygiene remain the best controls.

    We will update you with as soon as we will have more information!
Coaches' Corner

We are introducing Coaches' Corner!

This year, in the absence of a Head Coach, three Claremont coaches have formed the Coaching Executive (CE) and between them will share the responsibilities of the Head Coach.  The three coaches are Frank Glass, Elena Nesci and Melanie Chiswell.   In addition to the CE, we are fortunate to have a strong contingent of coaches, and together we have big plans! Of course, if you are interested in joining the coaching ranks at Claremont, please talk to the CE for more information.  The more the merrier!

While the pool is closed, the CE has been busily plotting and planning ways to make training even better, in preparation for when we are allowed back into the pool.

Our first action has been to add some extra training sessions to the weekly schedule (see below for details).

Other initiatives in development include:

  • Skill development clinics;
  • A weekend training camp down south;
  • Education program to be held prior to swimming on club nights – including things like Stretch & Flex; and
  • A Club Championships program.

These plans are all in the early stages of development, and more information will be provided as plans progress.  Our first priority is to get back into the pool and have a fabulous training program ready to go!

We look forward to seeing you back in the pool, hopefully in the near future
