Welcome to my every-other-week newsletter — another Saturday night special! Just two reviews this time, but both were fun to write even though the shows themselves weren’t memorable.

Let me know if you like it, and thanks for reading. — Aaron

Sesame Street

I was four when Sesame Street signed on TV in 1969. I reviewed the 50th anniversary special of Sesame Street, which is Sunday on HBO. The one-hour show has all the elements of what made Sesame Street a game-changing kids’ show, and took me way back.

Emily Dickinson, the TV show

Shows from the new Apple TV+ aren’t getting a whole lot of love, but I really wanted to like Dickinson, starring Hailee Steinfeld as teenage Emily. Unfortunately, the historical travesties committed by the show were too much to take, as I explain in my review.
