Emergency Rally to STOP BILL 156

Queens Park, 2:30 – 4:30 PM
Please join us for an emergency rally as Animal Ag tries to rush through Bill 156. Show up for the animals at Queen’s Park as the Ontario government debate Bill 156 in its Second Reading on December 10.
The animal agriculture industry is fighting back, and the Ontario government has been pressured to pass Bill 156 to criminalize the important work carried out by animal rights activists, such as documenting and exposing the horrific realities of animal exploitation. We must be present to let the politicians know that we will oppose this bill every step of the way. Our rights and freedoms depend on it. The lives of animals depend on it.

From Toronto Pig Save's Stop Bill 156 vigil on December 5, first-time vigil participant Tina explains why vigils are important and why Ontario's Bill 156 must be stopped. Please watch.

Also watch activists protest Bill 156 at the local Ontario MPP’s office, Conservative Jane McKenna. We’re demanding the right for protest & free speech. Please, phone your Ontario MPP, ask them to make a stand. Sign the petition.

Leo Tolstoy defines the duty to bear witness as: "When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him who suffers, and try to help him."

SAVE'S ANIMAL RESCUES

POLAND
Torun Animal Save helped save about 1,000 hens! They report: "We got in touch with the owners of a laying hens factory farm. After the talk about their care, we asked them what is happening to them when they produce fewer eggs. As we knew already they confirmed that they send them to the slaughterhouse.
Their farm capacity is around 8,000-9,000 hens. We negotiated with the owners that lives be spared and they agreed. They will give us animals for free. Right now we have found new homes for almost 1,000 hens, all around Poland. We had a huge selection of them and we will are giving them only to the people who will not exploit them in any way and will provide care and freedom for them.
Right now we are fundraising money for petrol costs because transporting so many animals will take a lot of time from the farm to the new homes." If you can help, you can send money via PayPal here.

East London Chicken Save report from their special vigil on November 28: "Yesterday marked three years since we began our East London vigils. In that time we have seen immense changes. Veganism has continued to soar ... whilst the negative impact of animal products on our health and planet has become common knowledge. But most importantly, and devastatingly, the number of animals being bred, exploited, abused and killed worldwide has continued to rise. This is why we will never give up fighting alongside the animals. And this is why complacency is not an option."
