I am so excited to share with you our latest issue: Sinister Wisdom 115: Lesbian Learning. Assembled by LB Johnston, the creative work in this issue asks important questions about lesbians and learning. In a heteropatriarchal world, how do we learn about women, about lesbians, and finding, nurturing, and supporting one another?

The writers featured in this issue ask the important questions about lesbians and learning, bridging the gap between a mainstream society that ignores us and the thriving lesbian communities nurturing growth and education.

Sinister Wisdom issue 115: Lesbian Learning includes creative work by Jennifer Abod Wendy, Judith Cutler, Jillian Etheridge, Molly Martin, Jessica Lowell Mason, Shelonda Montgomery, Natalie Eleanor Patterson, Yvonne Zipter and many others!

This is a fantastic issue - and I know it is now (finally!) reaching subscribers across the United States and around the world. Those of you watching closely the emails that we send out from Sinister Wisdom know that we publish issues on the 15th day of the first, fourth, and tenth months (January, April, and October) of the year (and on the 4th of the sixth month (July) of the year). Nearly always we send out the Published! email on the same day. This issue seemed to be slow in reaching people, however. It was dropped off at the post office in Baltimore on December 26th but seemed to take some extra time to wend its way through the system, so I held off on this email. One of Sinister Wisdom's interns, Cassidy Scanlon, wrote "Punk Rock Intervention" for PULP Mag on Medium about how punk rock shows helped her renegotiate her boundaries after experiencing sexual abuse.

"The violence of the mosh pit was unlike any of my attempts at managing my feelings with self-harm. Even when covered in sweat and beer, my limbs throbbing and my ears ringing, it was cathartic. The experience forced me to be conscious of my body and its limitations. When I needed to catch my breath, I’d take a step back. When I felt like soaring above the crowd, I asked a friend for a hand to lift me." Read more here.
