We had a great turnout at our social event this weekend after the 10-miler. Thank you to everyone who came and to Capital One Cafe for hosting. Our next one will be on 3/14 - the weekend after the marathon! We can't wait to host more of these during the off-season and next season.
Hi Legger,

We hope you had fun and made new friends at the social event on Saturday after our 10-miler. Thank you all for coming! If you didn't make it, keep an eye out for our next one on 3/14.

This weekend's run is our last 20-miler before the marathon. The route is North to the VA and then South to Jib. This route takes us North through Palisades Park then turns onto San Vicente, which we take to Wilshire. Wilshire becomes Federal, which we follow to Ohio and turn left. We follow Ohio past the Water Station at Ohio/Sawtelle continuing to Sepulveda, where we turn around. After refueling at the water station, we go back on Ohio to Federal to San Vicente. At this point we are following the last portion of the LA Marathon course until we pass 1450 and continue South to Jib.  Boston bound is hosting three water stations at: 26th & San Vicente, Ohio & Sawtelle, and Ocean Park. As usual, Gail, our fearless bagel lady, will be at 1450 until 9:20 with bagels.

Please mark your calendars for February 29 (a 7-mile run day) as the L.A. LEGGERS will be hosting a garage sale of merchandise at 1450. This is a great time to get club shirts from past seasons at a huge discount.

The Scotty Award application is now open. This award, named in honor of L.A. LEGGERS founder Bob Scott, is the club's lifetime-achievement award. Submit your nominations today!

In exciting news, our End of Season party is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at 3:30pm at Killer Shrimp in Marina Del Ray. Tickets will go on sale soon - stay tuned!

Parking for the L.A. Marathon is now available! Please check out the L.A. Marathon website for more information. Also, we are looking for volunteers for race day. If you are not running, we would love for you to come out, cheer your fellow LEGGERS on, and help us at our support stations or at the Loews hotel. Sign up here!  If you have any other questions regarding race day on March 8, check out the marathon FAQ page on our website.

Finally, applications for the 2020-2022 LEGGERS Board of Directors are open! If you'd like to give back to the club, we highly encourage you to apply.

See you on the pavement!

Join the LEGGERS Board of Directors

If you have enjoyed the water stations, training schedule, t-shirts, emails, race support and a million other things this past season, then you have enjoyed the work of the LEGGERS board! If you'd like the chance to give back to the club and your fellow runners, now is the time to make that happen.

We are now accepting applications for our 2020-2022 board. Members serve a 2-year term, attend monthly board meetings and contribute their time and skills to the club in a variety of ways.  All completed applications must be in by Tues 2/25 and required interviews will be held Saturday 2/29.

Overall, being on the board is an extremely rewarding experience. If you have questions before applying, please email our current President, David, at president@laleggers.org.

Mentor's Corner

Your weekly dose of advice from Coach Barry:

"Our upcoming 20 miler is your dress rehearsal. By now you should know the food and hydration you will use and how often you will eat/drink. Your hydration belt/vest/handhold is picked (do not rely only on race supplied stations!). Use this 20 miler to give it one final test over distance to all of this. Knowing all this now makes for a great race day."
