EDUCATION HUB @ HOME

The Education Hub continues... only this time you can attend from the comfort of your own home, for free!

This term consists of 3 weeks of classes including a screening of an Israeli movie followed by a discussion, a taste of Daf Yomi, and a look at the connection between Judaism and the environment.

In these exceptional times we are proud to make Education Hub classes available for free to ensure everyone has access to these wonderful educational opportunities.

SUPPORTING VOLUNTEERS

JVN is heading an effort to help Jewish organisations manage their volunteers during this difficult period. If your shul uses many volunteers and you need ideas to keep things running during this crisis, your community's volunteer coordinator might want to join their weekly forum. Let us know and we will put you in touch.

Here are a few ideas that came out of this week's forum:
  • https://covidtechsupport.com/ - Free tech support offered to charities

  • If your shul needs need anything done by volunteers (for example designing a leaflet, help with marketing/fundraising during these times...), you can ask JVN to promote this as a volunteer opportunity on https://www.jvn.org.uk

  • If your community offers a service, you can also tell JVN so they can signpost users to it.

  • Kahalabroad.org is an organisation that supports Jewish students abroad, linking them up to local Jewish communities. Now these students are back home in the UK due to the coronavirus crisis and some of them would like to find volunteering opportunities. Contact joseph@kahalabroad.org.
Tonight at 8PM is our third weekly LJ community briefing: all chairs and rabbis are encouraged to take part, and if someone else is taking the lead on the CVD-19 response in your community then of course they are welcome to attend as well or instead.

Please email Rafe Thurstance to get meeting details.
