33rd Annual Meeting

LELT's 33rd Annual Meeting went virtual this year! Typically the Annual Meeting is a chance to get together with our members, celebrate the achievements of the past year, provide updates on what we're working on, and elect members of our Board of Directors.

We hope this virtual edition will help keep you up-to-date on all things LELT from the comfort of your home. Thanks to our members for your support, you make everything we do possible.

Trek for the Trails - all of September!
Volunteer Work Day - September 4th, 9am - 11am, Peabody-Fitch Woods
- Registration required. Please email Maggie at membership@lelt.org to register.
Bruce Marshall at Narramissic - September 4th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
- Tickets are free, but required. Get tickets here.

Registration is required (and limited) for all events. Precautions include physical distancing, limiting the number of participants, required pre-registration, and wearing masks when distancing is not possible. All events are subject to cancellation and/or changes. Keep tabs on our events page for more details about upcoming events.

Trek for the Trails

We made some changes! Now you can complete your Trek ANY TIME in the month of September! Get out & give back to the trails you love. $20/adult, and 100% of your registration gives back to the trails.

When: All of September
Where: Any LELT preserve
What: Hike, walk, stroll, bike, run, skip or drive. Whatever gets you out enjoying nature!

Project Update: PFW

New trails at Peabody-Fitch Woods and a joint LELT & Bridgton Historical Society parking area are now open for public access. This is still an active worksite so please use caution. Over the next months we plan to add trail signage, a kiosk, interpretive signage, benches and final touches on the accessible trail. We need your help to make these additions possible!

A new loop trail out to several granite quarries is also open for public access. Download a trail map on our website.

Consider a donation today to complete the trail project and ensure our ability to care for these new trails into the future.

Volunteer Opportunities

Peabody-Fitch Trail Work - 9/4/2020, 9am - 11am, South Bridgton
Come out for a couple hours of trail work at Peabody-Fitch Woods. We'll be clearing some viewpoints along the new gravel surfaced trail.

Story Book Trail
We're looking for volunteers to assist LELT and the Bridgton Public Library re-vamp the Story Book Trail that is normally set up in Pondicherry Park during the summer. Please email Maggie if you are interested in helping.

Naples Trail Work
The town of Naples is looking for volunteers to help out with trail construction on land they own on Trickey Pond. LELT will be advising on trail layout and construction, as well as lending tools for use. Please contact Kathy if you're interested in helping out!

Tiger Hill Community Forest Expansion

Paddling the Northwest River in Sebago. Access to the River will be secured with the conservation of 20 acres adjacent to Tiger Hill Community Forest.
