On 28 May 2019, the annual R20 World Summit will again be taking place in Vienna. This third edition organized by Arnold Schwarzenneger’s R20 Regions of Climate Action will follow up on last year’s outcome, which identified climate communication as a key force to mobilize and support climate action. There will be other discussions such as over Europe’s Rising Ambition for Climate Action, Cooperation & Partnership and Best Practice Projects & Solutions.

The R20 believes that Cities and Regions play a central role in the fight against climate change and its impact, and has a goal to accelerate sub-national infrastructure investments in the green economy. AER and R20 share a common President, Mr Magnus Berntsson and as such have been invited to attend the R20 World Summit.

AER has received 10 free tickets (normally valued at 100 euros) to attend the R20 World Summit, which will be given in priority to regions active in their fight against climate change.
Regions interested in attending should contact the Member Relations Coordinator, Tina Wu.

Why Food matters for regional development

Providing citizens with affordable, safe and nutritious food is complex. Moreover, the health and wellbeing of citizens and consumers are directly affected by the way cities and regions are shaping a sustainable food environment. The management of food systems and food quality has therefore far-reaching impact for areas as varied as health, climate, jobs and innovation.
