  OPEN CALLS FOR PROJECTS 

We remind that until 28 June takes place the 3rd call for submitting for support on submeasure 8.1 - support for afforestation/creation of woodland  .
Also, until 30 June 2019 are still open the calls for projects for the following submeasures:
  •  5.1 support for investments in preventive actions aimed at reducing the consequences of probable natural disasters, adverse climatic events and catastrophic events – public and private beneficiaries, 
  • 5.2 support for investments for the restoration of agri­cultural land and production potential damaged by natural disasters, adverse climatic events and catastrophic events
  • 16.4 Support for horizontal and vertical co-operation among actors in the supply chain
Also until 30 November 2019, takes place the call for projects on submeasure 17.1 Insurance premiums for crops, livestock and plants.
STUDY ON EVALUATION OF RDP's OVER-REGULATION

At the level of MA for RDP has been carried out the project "Evaluation of the impact of over-regulationon implementing RDP 2014-2020" .

The main objective of the project was evaluating the legal provisions representing the over-regulation in implementing RDP 2014-2020 and proposing some simplification measures, as well as evaluating the impact of RDP actions in decreasing the administrative burden both for beneficiaries as for authorities.

The result can be viewed on the madr.ro and rndr.ro sites, in Romanian and English.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
   AGRIFISH COUNCIL OF 14 MAY

The Council had an exchange of views in public session on the new delivery model of the post 2020 CAP reform package on the basis of a presidency paper. Ministers focused their interventions on the reporting of milestones and performance review, and the possibility of establishing unit amounts for non-area/animal-based interventions.

Furthermore, the Council was informed about and had an exchange of views on the agricultural aspects of the Commission communication "A clean planet for all: A European strategic long-term vision for a prosperous, modern, competitive and climate neutral economy".

Ministers focused in particular on the priority actions that should be undertaken at the EU and national level in the field of agriculture and forestry to contribute to the achievement of the Paris agreement goals by 2050.

  INFORMAL MEETING OF HEADS OF STATE OR GOVERNMENT - SIBIU

The informal European Council brought together EU heads of state or government in Sibiu, Romania on 9 May 2019. EU leaders focused on strategic plans for the Union in the coming years.
Leaders discussed the EU’s next strategic agenda for 2019 to 2024.
They exchanged views on the challenges and priorities for the EU for the years to come. 
The discussions in Sibiu were based on the Leaders’ Agenda note prepared by President Tusk and were divided into two parts, the first focusing on the external dimensions and the second on the internal dimensions.

The strategic agenda will be used to plan the work of the European Council, and will provide the basis for the work programmes of the other EU institutions.

The current agenda was agreed in June 2014 by the European Council. It focuses on five priority areas:

  • jobs, growth and competitiveness
  • empowering and protecting citizens
  • energy and climate policies
  • freedom, security and justice
  • the EU as a strong global actor
As the summit took place on Europe Day, the heads of state or government adopted the Sibiu Declaration as a sign of their unity and confidence in the future of the EU.
"We reaffirm our belief that united, we are stronger in this increasingly unsettled and challenging world. We recognise our responsibility as leaders to make our Union stronger and our future brighter, while recognising the European perspective of other European States."

NATIONAL EVENTS
  HIGH LEVEL CONFERENCE ON BEEKEEPING

On 25 May 2019, in Bucharest took place the "Beekeeping in European and global context" conference, event organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the occasion on the "International day of the Bee" and within the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Beside the minister were Daniel Botănoiu - Secretary o State, general directors of technical  units within MARD and experts.

The objective has been to highlight the importance of pollinators for humanity and entire ecosystem, as well as developing the beekeeping sector within climate changes.
The event gathered  officials from other Member States, such as the Tanja Strnisa - Secretary of State within the Ministry of agriculture, forestry and food of Slovenia, Carolina Starr - agriculture 
officer for the implementation of agroecology within FAO Regional office of Europe and Central Asia, Ioan Fetea - chairman of the Beekeepers Association in Romania, academia and others.


Mrs. Tanja Strnisa - Secretary of State, highlighted the importance of pollinators for the environment, agriculture and farmers - in terms of income and jobs.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania supports beekeeping, under the National Apiculture Plan, helping beekeepers purchase certified biological material and modern equipment in order to obtain competitive products.

  23rd MEETING OFTHE LEADER WORK GROUP IN CLUJ


During 28-29 May,Cluj hosted the meeting of the LEADER Work Group, the 23rd out of a serie of 24 such meeting dedicated to implementation of LEADER and local development.

The event reunited LAGs from North-West region with representatives of the Managing Authority and of the Paying Agency. The topics discussed aimed social infrastructure, cooperation, difficulties faced in implementing sM 19.3 - component A, consolidated version of the guide and future opening of component B of sM 19.3, methods of support and good practices.
Furthermore, the event included field visits to two projects financed through NRDP.

  21st INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RURAL TOURISM - VATRA DORNEI

During 23-25 May, Vatra Dornei hosted the 21st edition of the international conference on Rural Tourism.
The event was attended by more than 50 participants among which were researchers, consultants, practitioners from or with activities in rural tourism.

Also, were registered 41 scientific papers on various issues related to tourism in rural areas.
The practical part of the event included field trips to attractions within the area, such as: the Egg Musem in Vama - Bukovina , Mugur de Fluier (ENG Whistle bud) lodge, Casa Bunicii (Granny's house) lodge, Ascension of the Lord church .
