This dynamic educational session is designed for primary care health professionals working with people of refugee background.
HIV is an infection of worldwide importance and many of the regions from which people flee persecution are regions of high HIV prevalence. This session will include presentations and a panel discussion based on a case study to help primary health care professionals understand how to manage HIV for their patients of refugee background.

Discuss considerations when caring for patients from a refugee background with HIV
Describe the process for the effective delivery of preventive health care to patients at risk of HIV
Identify key resources and referral pathways available for refugee patients and families with HIV
Identify best practice processes that can facilitate culturally safe care.
