Raided for 3 plants

A Revelstoke couple who opened their home to guests for a charity fundraiser have a cautionary tale for people trying to legally grow their own cannabis in B.C.

Anna Minten and Emmanuel Levesque Dupere’s story has made headlines across Canada after they had their Revelstoke home raided by RCMP because their three cannabis plants were “visible to the public.”

Minten says five police officers in three cruisers showed up at their house with a search warrant, went through their home and their tenant’s suite, sheared the lock off their shed and cut down and confiscated their cannabis plants.

“Trust me, we are just as baffled as everyone hearing this story, which is why I feel it's so important to share it,” says Minten.

The Revelstoke Mountaineer first reported the cautionary tale, and it has taken off: on Reddit, on CBC’s As It Happens, on The Globe and Mail, and many other media, including us

First Penticton stores

The first two stores in Penticton have final approval from the B.C. government.

Cannabis Cottage and Spiritleaf have the green light to open when ready.

Penticton city council has given its support to a total of eight stores so far, including a BC Cannabis Store location.

Spiritleaf in Penticton is located at 102-2695 Skaha Lake Road. The chain also has a store in Vernon, which was the first provincially licensed retail cannabis store in the Okanagan. It opened on Canada Day. It will also have stores in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

There is no information available online about Cannabis Cottage. It's located at 385 Martin Street.

That makes five cannabis stores that now have provincial approval in the Okanagan. Hobo has opened in Kelowna and Starbuds has opened in Lake Country.

Ghost Train Haze by Color

Visually speaking, this is the least impressive order I’ve received from Color cannabis.

The order I received from the BC Cannabis Store is mainly smaller buds that look haphazardly machine trimmed.

Ghost Train Haze is a strong 20% THC sativa-dominant hybrid. I felt it right away in my sinuses. The tight, tingly sensation was followed fast by a dry mouth and a bit of dizziness, as the sensory experience kicked in. It gave an energetic high, perfect for a nice walk.

So far everything I’ve ordered from Color has been a good quality buzz. However, the visual appearance has been a little hit and miss. Like with food, half of the experience is enjoyed by the eyes.

Ghost Train Haze is OK. If you want to delve into Color’s offerings, I’d suggest Pedro’s Sweet Sativa or Mango Haze first.
