Free community information sessions on alcohol and drugs delivered by Drug ARM (Awareness, Rehabilitation and Management).
We can help with:
- conversing with a person who has an issue
- how to set healthy boundaries and keep them
- how to support family members and connect them to ongoing social and health services.

Dog Owner Quiz
Complete the dog owner quiz online or at any of our library branches and receive a free doggy doo bag dispenser.
Council wants to know where you walk your dog, what off-leash parks you use in the Mackay region and if you think there is a problem with dog poo not being picked up in public places.
Completing the survey will help improve the services and education Mackay Regional Council provide to the community.
Once you've completed the survey visit your local library to pick up your free doggy doo bag dispenser.

Come and join Dexter’s Storytime.
Explore the magic of reading with Dexter our comfort dog as he reads a new title each month.
This program offers a welcoming, low-sensory and non-judgmental space for all family members. Carer and parenteral supervision is encouraged and required.
This event is delivered in partnership with Healthy Kids Nurtured by Nature and is for adults aged 18 and above.

eSmart Libraries – Leaving a Positive Footprint
Mackay Regional Council Libraries is an accredited eSmart library.
The eSmart Libraries program provides a framework to help integrate better cyber safety practices and promote the safe use of online technology in communities. Now that we are an eSmart Library, we will continue to deliver programs that disseminate the eSmart message and provide our communities with safe and accessible places to engage online.
