THE OBAMA-CHESKY SCHOLARSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE
 
This scholarship gives college students financial aid to alleviate the burden of college debt, meaningful travel experiences to expand their horizons, and a network of mentors and leaders to support them.
 
Requirements include:
 
Finishing sophomore year in Spring 2022
Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
Have demonstrated a commitment to public service
Plan to pursue a career in public service upon graduation
Be a United States (US) citizen, US permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card), or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA)

Students must demonstrate financial need to be considered for the program

Course Description:  A course to maximize your potential to achieve prestigious fellowships or scholarships.  A hands-on series using readings, homework, guest presenters, group work, and discussions.  

Objectives:   By the end of the course, you will: 1. Gain a greater awareness of fellowship and scholarship opportunities. 2. Understand the application and review processes. 3. Successfully draft a personal statement and a project synopsis/statement of grant purpose.

NextProf Pathfinder 2022
The University of California San Diego and the University of Michigan are pleased to announce the 2022 NextProf Pathfinder Future Faculty Workshop on October 2-4, hosted in La Jolla, California. 

This workshop is designed for 1st and 2nd year Ph.D. students and master’s students intending to apply to a Ph.D. program. NextProf Pathfinder prepares participants for a successful career in academia over three days by offering information from current faculty on what it takes to build a competitive graduate school record to obtain a faculty position in the professoriate. 

NextProf Pathfinder encourages those in groups underrepresented in the engineering and computer science professoriate to pursue careers in academia. It is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents of any ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability, veteran status, socio-economic status, first generation to college status, and religion. All travel and housing costs are covered for accepted applicants.

Rotary Global Scholarships offer a $30,000 grant to students or alumni who are planning graduate study abroad to pursue careers in fields that support:
