Welcoming the new lead pastor of Bishopdale Church

Pr Tinus de Nysschen, joined by his wife Elize and their two sons Elmar (15) and Henco (10), landed in Christchurch on the 8th of August and met their new church family last Sabbath. Tinus and his family have come all the way from Pretoria, South Africa to serve in our conference.

Pr Tinus has been in pastoral ministry since 2013. Prior to that, he had a successful plumbing business, which he sold in 2009 after feeling called to ministry.

He is an accomplished and energetic pastor with strong interpersonal and communication skills, has an active, faithful and obedient relationship with Jesus, a genuine love for people, and great passion for discipleship and evangelism.

Please join us in welcoming Pr Tinus and his family to South New Zealand, and keep them in your prayers as they find a home and get settled in Christchurch.

- Michael Jones, SNZC Secretary-Treasurer

EndItNow Emphasis Day

27 August 2022 | Abuse of Power
This year for enditnow® Emphasis Day we have chosen to focus on "Abuse of Power," an issue that is difficult to address and infrequently spoke about in our church. How do those in power and leadership relate to church members? Many members have had painful experiences that they may have never spoken about but that nonetheless need to be addressed. This is a sensitive topic, and we ask that in all we do and say we do not make general statements about all people in power since this does not apply to all, only to some.

Ellen White and Contemporary Adventism

6 November, Online
Seventh-day Adventists have a rich heritage of visionary pioneering people. Ellen White, one of the Church's founders, had a spiritual gift—being a special messenger for God. She wrote many books, letters and spiritual reflections that have been preserved for our benefit today. How do we make the best use of these writings now? The international and scholarly speakers at this symposium will answer this question from many angles that will enrich our understanding and application.
