JUNE NEWSLETTER

Dear Supporter,

Well its been a roller-coaster of a month for Andover Trees United and by that we mean some amazing highs with our Nature In Harmony events and the fantastic response to our call for volunteers for the cabin build - but unfortunately we've also experienced some terrible lows with the continuing spates of mindless vandalism to our trees and property. However, we will not be broken and the cabin build starts next week!!

Don't miss our Community Workday & Cabin build information session this Saturday, 12th June from 1.30-3.30pm (details below)!

Read on for our call out for volunteers and further information on dates for the Cabin project - please forward this newsletter and help us spread the word. We are looking for people to help with field catering, security (camping) and general ground crew. Plus there are a limited number of carpentry volunteer roles too.

Nature In Harmony: We have a roundup of findings from May plus a new video about Ladybird defences!

National Hedgerow Week: read our guest blog from local nature writer, Vicky Liddell as she reflects on the Hedgerows of Harmony Wood. Lovely!

We also have some updates on volunteer activity in the woods and at schools. Plus a One Ash blog and we introduce you to James in our Meet our volunteers blog.

As always, please jump straight to the bottom if you are looking for events.

Enjoy!

CABIN BUILD SOS! ANDOVER TREES UNITED CALL OUT FOR AN ARMY OF LOCAL VOLUNTEERS

The charity is calling out for local volunteers to join the ATU team to support the carpenters with catering, clearing and chipping the wood waste generated during the hewing and milling, generally keeping the site tidy, security and day runners. “A support team is a vital part of the build” says Wendy “we have the carpenters to make it and now we need the volunteers to make it happen!”
