Liberal Judaism Community Briefings

Thursday evenings at 8pm

After a short summer recess, Community Briefings will be back after High Holy Days. They'll be a little bit different as we're opening them up to all LJ members as opposed to just community chairs and Covid leads.

So far we have heard from a whole range of speakers, including the LJ EcoGroup, the Board of Deputies, Jami and the New Israel Fund.

We'd like to hear what you would like us to provide as subject matter. It could be something that has already been covered that you think should be done again for the wider community; something that has already been covered that you think should be revisited in more detail; or something completely new!

Please share your ideas by clicking here

Lyons Learning Project Sessions

Black Jewish Lives: The Bush Report

13 June - 25 July

In the past year, Jews have grappled with ideas around race, diversity and inclusion like never before. In a landmark series, the Lyons Learning Project and Jewish Renaissance will be acknowledging and celebrating the experiences of black Jews, undermining the perhaps Eurocentric assumptions about Jewish life. First we look at the Bush Report with Marie van der Zyl, president of the Board of Deputies, and hear from black Jews in the UK, who will share some of their experiences, then we widen the frame for rare insights into Jewish life in Africa. In this opening session, we are delighted to be joined by Marie Van der Zyl, President of the Board of Deputies, who will share some insights into both the motivations and findings of the Bush Report. Click here to sign up.
