Did someone say, Koala Karaoke?
If you’ve ever heard a koala bellow, you’ll understand that ‘koala’ and ‘karaoke’ are two words that should never go together.
But in a first for the Southern Highlands, we’ve teamed up with the one and only Julia Zemiro to host an online Koala Karaoke Party!
Join us via Zoom on Tuesday 28 September to hear some exciting news from the Southern Highlands Koala Conservation Project team and of course, have a sing-along.
The playlist commences at 7 pm and we guarantee it will be a fun night in for the whole family.

Children’s Services Covid relief
To assist families with young children during the current stay-at-home orders, we’re proposing to waive child care ‘gap fees’ for children who’d normally attend our Wingecarribee Out of School Hours Service (WOOSH).
The waiver takes effect from 23 August 2021 and remains in place until the stay-at-home orders have been lifted or otherwise advised by the Department of Education, Skills and employment (DESE).

Arts trail COVID changes
We’re disappointed to announce that the ARTStrail will not go ahead in 2021.
Planning a large social event amid a pandemic proved to be a significant challenge. We also heard from participating artists who were unsure about welcoming visitors to their personal studios.
Of course, the ARTStrail is more than just studio visits and we’re committed to supporting our creative community in other ways.
We’re currently developing a series of professional development opportunities, focusing on upskilling and digital literacy.
Stay tuned for details and join us in sending a virtual hug to our treasured artists 🤗

RRC Re-opens
Our Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) is back open to the public!
You can once again drop off all your unwanted wastes and materials including recycling, general (inert), building and green waste.
The Community Recycling Centre (CRC) located within the grounds of the RRC has also re-opened. The only facility not yet open to the public is the Reviva Centre.
The re-opening of the RRC follows the green light by the NSW Government and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Let’s do this, Wingecarribee
People across NSW are getting vaccinated in extraordinary numbers.
Here in the Wingecarribee Shire, 81.7% of people aged 15 years and over have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. In even better news, 54% of people in that same age group are fully vaccinated*
Each vaccination brings us closer to getting back to doing the things we love.
Speak to your local GP or pharmacist about getting vaccinated. You can also contact the National COVID-19 Vaccine Helpline on 1800 020 080. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
